Congratulations to the Bellevue High School Jazz Ensemble for an outstanding first place performance at the Basically Basie Jazz Festival The group traveled to Kansas City the week of April 25 to showcase their musical talent, entertain audiences and compete against schools from across the Midwest. The Brookside Art Annual Festival occurs every year around the start of May in Brookside and is considered one of the top 25 art festivals in the country. Vans Warp Tour, Boulevardia Music Festival, and many others make Kansas City an incredible place for music lovers.Īrts and crafts are at the epicenter of Kansas City's attraction. The Art of Kansas City Swing in June is also another great music fest to check out for old-town music delight. The Messiah Festival of Music & Art kicks things off every year in late March in Lindsborg. The Phoenix is one of the oldest jazz & blues clubs (with darn good food) in the heart of downtown KC. Music is definitely still alive in and around Kansas City.
